        rico:scopeAndContent     "De heer Willem Adrianus (Wim) Hoogwerf vertelt dat hij in 1939-1940 tijdens de mobilisatie gelegerd was in Rhenen. Na de capitulatie keerde hij terug naar huis in Vlaardingen en ging hij weer aan het werk. In oktober 1940 werd hij door zijn schoonvader overgehaald om lid te worden van het Geuzenverzet. Vervolgens werd hij op 24 februari 1941 opgepakt. Hij werd gevangen gezet in Scheveningen en op 8 april op transport gesteld naar Buchenwald. Het eerste half jaar was erg zwaar voor hem. Er was weinig te eten en hij zat in een zwaar commando, het Schachtkommando. Daarna werd hij als automonteur te werk gesteld in de Kommandanturgarage. Daar waren de omstandigheden een stuk beter. Hij werkte in dit commando tot aan de bevrijding. Omdat er na de bevrijding weinig voor de Nederlanders werd geregeld, organiseerde hij met andere gevangenen vijf oude autobussen uit Weimar. Hij reed er twee keer mee naar Eindhoven. Ook bracht hij de jongens die in Eindhoven en omgeving waren ondergebracht met de bussen naar huis."@nl ;
