        rico:scopeAndContent    "Op 28 augustus 1939 werd deze Limburgse man gemobiliseerd, bij de compagnie depottroepen te Den Haag. De commandant was ook een Limburger en diens adjudant was een leraar van zijn eigen HBS in Heerlen. Hij vertelt in dit interview over de chaotische ontvangst in Den Haag en de primitieve omstandigheden tijdens de algehele mobilisatie. Door een incident dat hem voor de krijgsraad bracht, werd hij administratief te werk gesteld op het compagniesbureau en regelde hij in april 1940 zijn eigen overplaatsing naar Maastricht. Op het niveau van soldaten en onderofficieren werd niemand geïnformeerd over de oorlogsverwachtingen. Via telefonisch contact met familie hoorde men in de nacht van 9 op 10 mei 1940 dat er wat aan de hand was bij de grens."@nl ;
