Het feest stond centraal in de 'Zaak Ries'. De meeste bezoekers van het feest, waaronder Thesaurier Generaal L.A. Ries en Henk J.G.Vermeulen waren verdachten in de gerucht makende z.g.'Haagsche Zedenzaak' van 1936. Waar L.A. Ries valselijk van ontucht werd beschuldigd. Getuige weet twee keer ternauwernood tijdens de oorlogsjaren aan vervolging te ontkomen. Getuige voelt zich vanaf jonge leeftijd aangetrokken tot oudere mannen en komt zo in contact met de rijke ontwikkelde bovenlaag van de homo-subcultuur, met hun regelmatige bijeenkomsten, z.g.
