Redt samen met zijn vader drie Duitse vliegers die neerstorten in het IJsselmeer. Houdt het in de winter van 1944 door de kou niet langer en gaat terug naar huis. Wordt door verraad in februari 1944 opgepakt en via Amsterdam overgebracht naar Kamp Amersfoort. Verblijft daar tien weken en moet werken in het zogenaamde “Blindganger commando” in Soesterberg. Gaat na 10 weken met in het totaal 536 medegevangenen op 18 april 1944 op transport naar Rheine. Maar wordt doorgestuurd naar Buchenwald. Veel emoties. Zeker de ervaring van het bombardement van het Gustofwerke II en het cremeren van de slachtoffers daarvan. Gaat op 2 november 1944 naar Langenstein om daar op het bedrijfsspoor te werk gesteld te worden. Wordt op 11 april 1944 bevrijd."@nl ;
