        rico:scopeAndContent    "Rachel van Amerongen werd geboren in 1914 in Amsterdam. Dit gesprek concentreert zich op Rachels jeugd en de kennismaking met haar eerste man Charles Désiré Lu-A-Si, een Surinaamse Nederlander die in juni 1941 is gearresteerd vanwege zijn betrokkenheid bij de februaristaking. De nazi's zetten hem gevangen in Kamp Schoorl. Via Amersfoort, Neuengamme en Dachau werd Charles in Auschwitz gevangen gehouden. Hij overleed daar in november 1942 aan de gevolgen van martelingen. Rachel is later ook gearresteerd vanwege verzet. Omdat zij joods was is zij in Westerbork gevangen gezet. De zoon van Rachel en Charles, Dees, overleefde dankzij o.a. majoor Bosshardt. Rachel overleefde Auschwitz , Bergen-Belsen en Theresienstadt en trok in 1950 met haar tweede man Eddy van Amerongen naar Israël."@nl ;
