Germany and the Monroe Doctrine
2 electronic resources (14, 2 pages)
The file consists of excerpts and quotations from various Nazi publications and newspapers on the Monroe Doctrine and U.S. foreign policy. First the term itself is explained (Brockhaus), afterwards its effect on U.S foreign policy is quoted from various newspapers. Alfred Rosenberg criticizes American involvement in Europe, in contradiction to U.S policy. The waning importance of the doctrine during President Roosevelt's term is highlighted. The remaining articles deal with German influence and settlement in Brazil and its consequences.
