[Letters Reichsbund Jüdischer Frontsoldaten]
1 electronic resource (23 pages)
The file is a collection of letters and petitions written in 1933 and 1934 by the head of the Reichsbund Jüdischer Frontsoldaten (Association of Jewish War Veterans), Dr. Leo Löwenstein, to Adolf Hitler, Dr. Goebbels, president Hindenburg, Dr. Lammers and the American embassy, and others, addressing the increased anti-Semitism and restrictions for Jews living in Germany. Some letters protest the treatment, others are trying to gain exemptions for Jewish veterans. The letter to Hindenburg protests the exemption of Jews from serving in the German army. A note by R. v. Stutterheim about his meeting with Dr. Löwenstein summarizes its activities and its commitment to the German state.
