The file contains nine circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt) from March and April 1968. The circulars include the following issues: no. 1551, no. 1550, no. 1548, no. 1545, no. 1544, no. 1543, no. 1542, no. 1540, and no. 1539.They mainly deal with recent court judgements made by the German Federal Court (Bundesgerichtshof) on questions of restitution after Nazi persecution, especially regarding juridical regulations and proceedings for claims concerning Austria within the Federal law for restitution („Bundesentschädigungsgesetz”), pensions, professional damages and damages to life following Nazi persecution, the status of being recognized as an expelled person, and life in hiding during Nazi persecution.
