This file contains diplomatic correspondence between the German Foreign Ministry, the Reich Main Security Office (“Reichsicherheitshauptamt”, RSHA) and the German representatives in in Sofia regarding the treatment of Jews in Bulgaria. Written between July 1942 and November 1943, the documents include letters and telegrams dealing mostly with the rescue transports of Jewish children through Bulgaria to Palestine, Jewish emigration to Palestine from Bulgaria, and the appointment of SS captain Theodor Dannecker as advisor to the Reich Main Security Office (“Reichsicherheitshauptamt”, RSHA) on the treatment of Jews in Bulgaria.
