The file contains a typewritten book which deals with the persecution of Jewish people in the region of Baden in Southern Germany. Against the background of contemporary trends in “Vergangenheitsbewältigung”, the book was published in 1989 by the State Education Authority of Lörrach in Germany and is dedicated to both educators and students interested in the local Jewish history. As a basis for history lessons, it provides extracts from the book „Ein kleiner Händler, der mein Vater war“ (A small merchant who was my father) published in 1972 and in which the author describes the Nazi persecution of her father Max Mayer in Freiburg.
