The file contains a brochure presenting the results of a study on “Negro-Jewish Relationships” led by Eleanor Paperno Wolf, Alvin D. Loving, and Donald C. Marsh, and published by Wayne University Press in 1944. Following the so-called race riots that broke out in 1943, the study deals with the relation between the African American and the Jewish communities in Detroit. Rather than a conflict between these both communities, the riots expressed a deeper conflict between the African American and the Non-African-American population of the city, as the study argues. Its results have been shortly summarized in 20 points. The study had been sponsored by the Jewish Community Council of Detroit, the Detroit Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the Graduate School of Wayne University.
