[Anti-Nazi Publications VI]
1 electronic resource (112 pages)
The assortment of files contains newspapers, journals, and newsletters published by various German and European Anti-Nazi political groups and networks between 1933 and 1945. Three documents (Rapporter fran tyskland, Tysklands Beretninger, Rheinische Zeitung) belong to the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the party’s exile organization in Denmark. The leaflet “Rotes Schupo Sprachrohr” was published by members of the Communist Party of Germany. The typewritten issue of the newspaper “Rood Wit Blauw” published after the German capitulation in May 1945 belongs to the Dutch Nazi opposition. The first issue of the newspaper “Vigilance” as the organ of the Jewish People's Council Against Fascism and Anti-Semitism” was published in 1937 and deals with the rising fascist and anti-Semitic tendencies in Great-Britain. However, not all of the documents can be easily classified as Anti-Nazi publications. Thus, the issue of the typewritten newspaper “Die Rote Standarte” was published by members of the SA Berlin-Brandenburg in May 1935 and criticizing Adolf Hitler’s economic policy. The Austrian journals “Zeitschau. Halbmonatsschrift für Kultur, Wirtschaft und Politik“ and „Der Zuschauer“ deal with cultural, economic, and political questions in general, but they are charaterized by their Anti-Nazi stance, providing a forum for authors who are critical of the regime.
