"The file contains a copy of the newspaper 'Der Grundbesitz, eine Zeitschrift für Eigentümer und Verwalter' (The real estate, a magazine for owners and administrators) from 1949. The house and landowners association in the north of Berlin e.V. (Der Haus- und Grundbesitzerverein im Norden von Berlin e.V.) has forwarded a draft with practical examples of the reparations law to the city council of Berlin, as well as to some additional organizations. It was developed under the direction of the second chairman Fritz Demant. These statements are presented and supplemented in the magazine 'Der Grundbesitz'. It describes in detail the restitution for holocaust survivors and the follow generation, furthermore attributes of properties are explained, like the property situation abroad, characteristics of confiscation, like money restriction and pseudo-taxation and the right to claim indemnity. Also consequences for the German owners are mentioned. It appears as if the magazine does not feel that the regulations and conversions for the compensation payments are entirely justified. For example, factories that were aryanized in the Nazi era will be reimbursed with the new inventory or extensions. Der Grundbesitz describes this as a disadvantage for previous German owners and for German taxpayers. Also other articles deal with the Gesetz der Wiedergutmachung (Law of reparations) and the non-application of the restitution laws to fee notaries as a violation of the law."@eng .
