The file contains several protocols of meetings and correspondences regarding those. The main topic in all of the meetings and correspondences is the increase of antisemitism in Hamburg and in Germany in general. The organisation Verein zur Abwehr des Antisemitismus (Antisemitism Association) hold several meetings in Hamburg and Frankfurt in the years 1925-1930. The association's statutes are attached. Also invitations lists, lists of participants from several meetings, as well as reply letters and newspaper clippings regarding the work of the association and general information about the associate can be seen. Important people of the city of Hamburg like Senator Lattmann, Hauptpastor Beckmann, Carl Cohen, Dr. Leuckfeld, Oberlandesgerichtspasident Dr. Mittelstein, Dr. Hermann Samson, Justizrat Waldstein and Aby S. Warbung were working in the Verein zur Abwehr des Antisemitismus. Of interest is the letter by Max Warburg to Count von Bernstorff, 29th of January 1930 regretting not being able to attend the Palastine meeting in the hotel Atlantic, emphasizing the great agricultural advances in Palastine by Jewish settlers, language development (Hebrew) and political unrest (starting from the Western Wall, with talks in Geneva).Furthermore there is a correspondence to Dr. Brodnitz of the CV dt. Staatsbuerger juedischen Glaubens, Dr. Hermann Samson and Aby S. Warburg about positioning pro Zionism in the association (no) vs. individuals (yes) and Zionism as an argument for anti-Semites (should one therefore refrain from supporting it – response: cowardice). There is correspondence between Aby S. Warburg and Prof. Baumgarten, Kiel about expected unrest in Schleswig-Holstein esp. Kiel in October 1930 (Prof. Baumgarten complains about harassment by right wing students). Finally there is a protocol of the meeting from 27.3.1933 with the decision to abstain from further public activities, the dissolution of the association, and resignation of Georg Gothein.
