Correspondence between Nazi leaders and German army commanders II
1 online resource (58 pages)
The file contains the second part of documents which show a correspondence between Nazi leaders and German army commanders. The documents vary in leaflets, orders, transcription and letters. The topics are mainly regarding troop leadership, loyalty and obedience training in the army for a better nationalist worldview. Documents on training courses show how attempts have been made to explain ideological issues with nationalist ideology. Several training and lectures were given in 1943. Various documents show the themes and regulations used in the Third Reich, for example on nationalist foreign policy, the biological foundations of nationalism and the reorganization of Europe. Of course, these documents also reflect the propaganda of that time. That the National Socialist sentiment and the martial spirit should be revealed to everyone and that officers must persuade by their deeds. Further documents attest seminars which took place in different regions in 1944. In addition orders of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, of the NS-Führung der Wehrmacht, in cooperation with the Nutrition Office and from the Führerhauptquatier can be seen. The circular states that the nationalist ideology and political stance are used as the strongest weapon. Rolf Rienhardt, the head of the Reichspressekammer, published several letters/ pamphlets in order to inform that there wont be any major changes in the partisan press during the war. Guidelines for the integration of officers' associations of former units, inspection of the Wehrmacht and annual reports of teaching and training events are attached.
