The file contains the verdict of Josef Fligr Jr. (born on 2 July 1893 in Gutenfeld) and his father Josef Fligr Sr. (born on 20 August 1920 in Gutenfeld). The defendant started to work at the"Feinmechanische Werke Erfur" on May 20 in 1943. On September 27 1943 Josef Fligr received a telegram from his wife saying that she got ill. He asked his supervisor to leave work early – however, he was not allowed to. Thereupon, he left his workplace without permission. Arriving at his house he noted that she was not ill (anymore). His punishment for not returning to work was spending six weeks in a labor camp. He did not report to the authorities and stayed at his house. To avoid having to work his father proposed that Josef Fligr Jr. injures himself. He took an axe and cut off his left forefinger. His father informed the employment office and brought him to the hospital. They were found guilty of labor sabotage and sentenced to death.
