The file contains the verdict of Josef Doubek Sen. (born on 1 March 1894 in Nedwieditz), Johann Pecl (born on 30 September 1911 in Kobelnitz), Maria Doubek (born on 21 June 1889 in Zokolnitz), Julie Svoboda (born on 21 April 1899), Jaroslava Doubek (born on 26 April 1920 in Zokolnitz) and Beatrix Pecl (born on 18 May 1922 in Kobelnitz). The 20 year old Josef Doubek Jr. has been wanted by the Secret State Police (Gestapo) since 1940. He has been hiding at his family’s house. In March 1941 Josef Doubek learned that his son is wanted. In May 1941 the Secret State Police searched for Josef Doubek Jr. in the house of the Doubek family. He managed to escape through the window, disappeared under a different name and worked in Koenigshof. Because Josef Doubek was certain that it would have been too insecure for Josef Doubek Jr. to live with them he asked his colleague Johann Pecl to hide him. Pecl agreed and let Josef Doubek stay with him and his wife for one year (until his arrest in August 1942). The defendants are charged with the fact that they deliberately tried to hide Josef Doubek Jr. (being accused for preparation for treason). Josef Doubek and Johann Pecl were sentenced to death. Maria Doubek was sentenced for four years in a penitentiary, Julie Svoboda was sentenced to three years and six months, Jarsolava Doubek, three years and Beratrix Pecl two years.
