In those letters he discusses with Ubald von Roll, Janak von Freyenwald and others the situation in Switzerland in general, his financial problems and his work. Because of that he writes several letters, discussing his financial situation and asking for money. Furthermore he tries to distance himself from Fleischauer and his work, as his reputation is harming his own reputation in Switzerland and as Toedtli says, there will be more trials to fight and win.
