We value him acording to his skill. We take the artist for granted. What is the artist's relation to state? He wants to abolish it like Marx and Engels, it should wither away gradually. But what should be put in the pace of the state from the artist point of view? The answer to this is: the community, or simply society. The state as such is an unreal abstraction. The artist is patronised by the state only when he is useful.'
