He made his way through Wawer, Międzyrzec Podlaski and Biala, where heavy bombardments resulted in destruction, fear and injuries, and onto a passenger train which was shot on by the Red Army at the border. Protocol No. 20 is an extract from a volume of protocols /statements provided by a group of Polish-Jewish refugee writers and journalists who fled to Vilnius, Lithuania.
