Excerpts of the diary of C.V. Krogmann from 1933, 1934 and 1936 with an additional notice from 1950. The diary entries describe the work of the mayor of Hamburg in regard to economy and shows his struggel to better foreign sale policies. Foreign sale was a main interest of Hamburg. The entries are about meetings that are about trade and financial policies for Germany and specific projects for Hamburg. Many entries are about consultations and conversations with Keppler, Schlotterer, Posse, Wagener, Luebbert, Syrup a.o.. The provision of work is a main focus. Some entries are about appointments. Several entries are about meetings in the Reichs Chancellery. The diary reveals tensions and disagreements between factions withing the economic leadership and also personal fights e.g. between Schacht and Darre. Meetings of Goering with economists and industrialist reveal Goerings standing. One of the main issues is the question how and how much the state should intervene. Among the entries a speech of Krogmann at the"day of trad" in Braunschweig 1933. A few entries are from the London economic conference. Entry about the meeting of the Generalrat der Wirtschaft. In an addition to the diary entries Krogmann declares in 1950 that he was approached by Keppler and others to bring down Hugenberg. Krogmann also declares that he told Luebbert about his ideas for provision of work which Luebbert forwarded to Hitler.
