1 electronic resource (165 pages)
The file contains material of a correspondence between the German Jewish Aid Committee in London and couple of Refugee organizations, like the Jewish Refugee Committee/ Trainee department in Leeds, the British Committee for Refugees from Czecho-Slovakia and the York Refugee Committee. The correspondence is regarding visa and trainee possibilities for Jews who want to escape Germany or other occupied countries and stay in Great Britain. All of the organizations tried to save as many Jews as possible by the use of trainee visa for Great Britain. Unfortunately Jews who applied need to be in a specific age to get these visa. For people who were to old it was not possible to get to Great Britain by these visa. Several Letters have been sent between the organizations regarding the abundance of applicants and information letters regarding them. For example those letters, which inform about the arrival of applicants in England and informations adressed to the trainee organization in terms of the travel plans. An active exchange between the organizations concerning further ideas and posibilities to involve more trainee places and finding other ways to get more Jews to Great Britain can be read. Also leaflets have been published to inform the applicans of their rights and their duties to get or if holding a visa.
