[Jüdischer Kulturbund in Berlin, Correspondence in 1934]
1 electronic resource (161 pages)
The file contains a correspondence between the office of Hans Hinkel with various institutions and organizations, covering the year 1934. Most of the material is original letters by Kurt Singer, chair of the Jüdischer Kulturbund (Cultural Federation of German Jews), and copies of the responses. The letters regard permission for theater plays, concerning the employment of musicians and artists and general questions concerning the Jüdischer Kulturbund. Informations about programs, applications for activities and preprinted articles for checking purposes have been sent to Hinkel. The Jüdischer Kulturbund was forced to ask for approvals for everything. If Hinkel did not approve something the Jüdischer Kulturbund had to change their plans. Also a preprinted manuscript written by the New York Times correspondent Claire Trask about an evening at the Kulturbund theater is attached. She also had to sent it to Hinkel for his permission to publish respectively to sent it to the New York Times. Also letters offering free tickets for Hans Hinkel, as well as one letter where he orders tickets can be read.
