Art in modern Germany
1 electronic resource (11)
The file contains extracts from speeches by Adolf Hitler, where he speaks about art in modern Germany. Art, so he argues, is considert as an integral part of the national well-being. Natioal Socialism has made the revival of German art an integral part of national resurgence. The immortality of true art is to be contrasted with the ephemeral values of what is called"moder" art. He continues, that the house of German art is the home of a true national art, that is, an art which shall be of immortal value to the German people. Art should henceforth reflect the clarity and truth that characterizes the Germans. For Adolf Hitler it is not violating the freedom of artistic expression to curb those who would inflict what is tantamount to spiritual death on the German people.
