The file contains a report by a journalist about the situation in Lithuania under the Nazi German occupation in 1941 and 1942. At first the Germans were welcomed as"liberator" from the repressive Soviet regime which occupied Lithuania prior to the German arrival. In hopes of re-establishing independence or regaining some autonomy, Lithuanians organized their Provisional Government. Soon the Lithuanian attitudes towards the Germans changed into passive resistance, as they saw it is not going to be better under the German occupation. The journalist compares the suffering of the Lithuanians with the suffering of the Poles and discribes amongst others how the life for Jewish Poles and Lithuanians is changing, how the antisemitism and land tenure effects everything.
