rico:scopeAndContent "The file contains a journal entries of Gorges Brunschvig, who was a Swiss lawyer and president of the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities (SIG). Internationally, he is best known for representing the plaintiff in the 1934–35\"Berne Tria\". Born in Bern to a family of Jewish horse traders, Brunschvig studied law at the University of Bern and passed the bar exam in 1933. In 1934, he founded a law firm on the Marktgasse in Bern. In this journal entries he describes how the atmosphere changed in Switzerland after the fascists attacked Italy and Albania. He also writes about the situation in Nazi Germany in 1939, that people got chased away, robbed and murdered. Every day letters arrived from Germany and Austria asking for help. He also mentions German concentration camps and that a SS-Officer said: No Jew did today? It is danger of black ice, we need ashes. Furthermore he informs about the political situation in Switzerland in 1961."@en ;
