The file contains a document regarding the biography of Ivan Fredorovich Manasevich-Manuilov. He was adopted by merchant F.S. Manasevich-Manuilov and was, among other things, a journalist and translator. From 1900 he was a special agent on Roman-Catholic activities in Rome. He worked in the embassy and had a rank of 'kolledzhskij sekretar'. He also presented his personal reports about latin-polish propaganda directed against Russia. In 1902 he was transferred to Paris where he was working for the Minister of Home Affairs V.K. Pleve, for informing and bribing the French press. 1904 he became the head of Special branch of Police Department. Later he was transferred to the Prime minister's office. Even though he was awarded several times, he was discharged in September 1906 from the Ministry of Home Affairs for passing uncertain information and financial cheating. Since 1906 he started publishing articles, interviews, abstracts, books and theater reviews, as well as information about Paris in several newspapers.
