This Article shows a clipping from the anti-Semitic newspaper “Il Tevere” Rome published on the 10th of February 1939. It explains why the city of Bern was chosen to run the trial against the Protocols of the wise men of Zion there. First it put blame on the cantonal law. Secondly the city of Bern was chosen so it could give the chosen verdict by a single Judge, the alleged socialist Jew Meyer. Although the trial was considered to be a local affair but drew world attention. Furthermore the newspaper reports about the periodical names, the people who were fined and punished before the court. They were sentenced on the 14th of May 1935. Only Colonnel Fleischauer from the Welt-Dienst refused to show up. On the 1st of November 1937 the court of appeal reversed the court decision on 4 points. 1. Article 14 of the law regarding immoral literature is not applicable to the Protocols. 2. The question of authenticity is irrelevant to the trial. 3. The president of the tribunal Meyer, who announced the sentence in first instance, was guilty of serious misconduct. 4. The first expert Loosli did not show either objectivity or impartiality. This periodical is an anti-Semitic periodical.
