rico:scopeAndContent "The pamphlet gives an overview of patterns of underground resistance in Eastern Europe over time. A general resistance against foreign rule, even armed resistance and partisan warfare can be observed. The various types of resistance in different areas are described. The Polish resistance movement is considered to be the most versatile uniting passive and active elements. Poland resisted several times during its history (1794, 1830, 1846, 1848, 1863, 1914-1918). The two opposing extremes – Czeckoslovakia, a successful “passive” (Svejkism) resister is compared to Yugoslavia with a very active resistance.
