Warsaw - a warning

The publication laments the lack of coverage of the Warsaw uprising in August 1944 in the British press. The author received permission to review communication between the fighting forces in Warsaw (G.O.C., Underground Army in Warsaw) and the Polish government in exile. The daily dispatches beg for ammunition and Allied support which was completely lacking. Three weeks of fighting without substantial help from outside left the fighting population with a strong feeling of abandonment. Only towards the end British media decided to cover the event. Moscow as well as some British circles were of the opinion that the uprising was not well coordinated with the Allies, which the author refutes based on his research.
