The publication published in 1936 by the “Deutsche Freiheitsbibliothek” (German Free Library) whose president was Heinrich Mann, tried to establish a space for discussion for the creation of a broad coalition of unity and people. An ideological framework for common steps needed to be created. The enclosed articles were considered to be helpful in doing so. Among the contributions are writings of Lion Feuchtwanger, Heinrich Mann, Viktor Schiff, Willi Münzenberg and Max Braun.
