The booklet published in 1942 recounts the firm stand of Norway’s teachers against efforts by the Nazis to enforce their ideology in the school system. After being abused in a camp 500 teachers were sent in cattle cars to Trondheim, and put in the cargo hold aboard an old, abandoned ship the S.S. Skjerstad built in 1904, with a capacity of 250 persons. On April 15th, 1942 the “death voyage” began which lasted 12 days.
