The paper is an issue of the weekly “Freies Deutschland” which was published until 1939 in France. In the end of August 1939, it could not continue its work in France and was published in Sweden. The article discusses the outbreak of the war, the civil war in Spain, and the role of the Sowjetunion. The Molotow-Rippentrop pact is criticized, and its consequences are analyzed. The role of the Western powers and their goals are subject of the second article “Das Antifaschistische Kriegsziel – (The anti-fascistic War Aims)”. The last article discusses the role of the German people and its position towards the Nazi regime.
