Documentation of the Vatican regarding Pope Pius XII Booklet published by the"L'Osservatore Roman" newspaper, the official newspaper of the Vatican, [including] articles regarding Pope Pius XII and including the attitude of the Vatican and Catholic leaders in various countries in Europe toward the Jews; [Note:] The publication's approach was apologetic, due to the aim of the publication: to respond to the charges that were hurled against the Vatican and Pope Pius XII for their silence during the Holocaust period; [included in the booklet is the ?] controversial play, titled,"The Deput", written by German playwright Rolf Hochhut in 1963, which was translated and performed on various stages, starting in the 1960s.
