The Ministry for Bohemian and Moravian Affairs was established following the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Nazis and the establishment of the Protectorate on the majority of its territory. Konstantin von Neurath, appointed as Governor of the Protectorate by the German authorities, was, in effect, ousted from his position by Hitler, on September 1941, for introducing policies that were not harsh enough in the eyes of the Fuehrer. Wilhelm Frick was appointed to this position, August 1943. The actual power was concentrated in the hands of the Deputy Governor, Reinhard Heydrich, from September 1941, and after Heydrich's death, in May 1942, by Kurt Daluege, his successor. The Czech\"Presiden\", Emil Hacha, lacked any actual influence.
