Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 160, dated 12 November 1940, regarding the closure of illegal sausage factories Sausages are being manufactured in illegal sausage factories under poor sanitary conditions, using unhygienic ingredients. These plants must close down by 17 November 1940; the Judenalteste (Rumkowski) has a factory that is authorized to manufacture sausages, and this factory is sufficient for all the needs of the ghetto.
