Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement No. 112, dated 27 August 1940, incorporating the German police order that all dogs in the ghetto must be put to death due to a rabies epidemic in the city The German Police order is dated 14 August 1940. No dogs may be kept in the ghetto after 29 August 1940; non-compliance with this order will be severely punished. The house committees will be responsible for implementation of the order.
