בחטיבה נמצא חומר נבחר מאוספי של הארכיונים ממלכתיים שונים בפולין (Archiwa Państwowe) וארכיונים מחוזיים אחרים. התיעוד צולם קודם כל במיקרופילמים ובאופן חלקי בנייר. בהמשך יצורף לחטיבה גם תיעוד סרוק. האוסף נוצר במשך עשרות שנים ועדיין מקבלים חומר חדש. התיעוד בחטיבה מאוד מגוון ומכיל חומר משנות העשרים והשלושים של המאה שעברה – בעיקר רשימות תושבים יהודיים, ארגונים יהודיים, תיעוד של העיריות.
התיעוד מתקופת השואה ממכיל רשימות של תושבים יהודיים בקהילות שונות והגטאות, רשימות של עובדי כפייה, רשימות אסירי מחנות עבודה ומחנות ריכוז ועוד. בתיעוד נמצא חומר אדמיניסטרטיבי של היודנראטים בורשה, לודז', לובלין, צ'נסטוחובה, בנדין ועוד.
בחטיבה נמצא גם תיעוד של העזרה העצמית ושל ה-Joint שפעל בשטחי פולין עד 1941 ולאחר מכן החל משנת 1945. בתיעוד של ג'וינט נמצאים בקשות סיוע ורשימות של תושבים יהודיים. בתיעוד מתקופה שלאחר המלחמה נמצאות רשימות של ניצולי שואה ותיעוד אודות הפעילות של הועדים יהודיים שהוקמו לאחר המלחמה.

In the Record Group there is material selected from collections in various State Archives in Poland (Archiwa Państwowe) and other regional archives. The material was initially copied onto microfilm and partially on paper. Eventually scanned documentation will also be added to the Record Group. The Collection was created over scores of years and we are still receiving new material. The documentation in the Record Group is very varied and contains material from the 1920s and 30s, mainly lists of Jewish residents, Jewish organizations and municipal documentation.
The documentation from the Holocaust period contains lists of Jewish residents in various communities and ghettos, lists of forced laborers, lists of inmates of labor camps and concentration camps and more. In the documentation there is administrative material from the Judenrats in Warsaw, Lodz, Lublin, Czenstochowa, Bendin and other places.
In the Collection there is also documentation of the Self-Help Organization and the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) that was active within Poland until 1941, and afterwards from 1945. In the JDC documentation there are requests for assistance and lists of Jewish residents. In the documentation from the period after the war there are lists of Holocaust survivors and documentation regarding the activities of the Jewish committees that were established after the war."@en ;
