The first part of the collection includes documents from various units. The first part contains many documents from the Eichenhain unit which was active in the FHQu Wehrwolf area (the area of the Fuehrer's [Hitler's] headquarters) in Strishawka (ten kilometers north of Winniza, Ukraine). The unit (known as RSD in the documents) was made up of SD and GFP personnel, as well as personnel from the TODT organization, and it had various names until it received the name GFP Eichenhain. The unit was subordinate to the Sicherungsgruppe Ost (Security Group East) and the Wehrmacht Sued (south) army groups.
Regarding the unit, the collection includes, among other items, correspondence within the unit, activity reports, situation reports, general circulars, summaries of meetings, personnel lists and personal documentation regarding specific soldiers (transfers, promotions and more). Additionally, the collection contains Sicherungsgruppe Ost material and material from other GFP units in the eastern areas.
In the second part of the collection there is more general material: guidelines and correspondence regarding the relations between Feldpolizei (field police) and geheime Feldpolizei (secret field police), [which were various military police units] and the Sicherheitspolizei (SIPO-Security Police), and concerning the tasks assigned to these bodies, mainly in the eastern areas.
In the collection there is correspondence with the Fuehrer's office and its personnel, including Martin Bormann, and with the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA- Reich Security Head Office) headquarters, both concerning Hitler's headquarters in Ukraine and concerning the general guidelines regarding the GFP.
