"The content of this correspondence mainly includes: news of the activities and welfare of Sigmund Freud and other members of the family; comments on the effects of the interwar economic climate in Austria and Germany; and some general comments on Freud's work. There are two letters which make references to dreams experienced by Freud.\n\nThe letters also follow how Sam Freud was able to help his uncle and family in Austria during this time by regularly sending parcels of food and other goods.\n\nThe collection includes material that accompanied some of the letters; namely a newspaper cutting and a copy of one of Freud's pamphlets. Also, one of the letters was sent to Sam Freud from James Strachey, sending a cheque on behalf of Sigmund Freud.\n\nAll letters are handwritten and sent from Berggasse 19, Vienna IX, Austria, to Sam Freud at 61 Bloom Street, Manchester, unless otherwise stated.\n\nNote that SSF/1/1/57 was previously incorrectly dated as 21 January 1928, and so is out of sequence."@eng . . . . . . .
