He emigrated to Great Britain in 1938 and died in 1956. According to a tribute to him shortly prior to his emigration<a href\"#_ftn\" name\"_ftnref\"></a>, Bloch was instrumental in centralising the welfare activities of the Frankfurt Jewish community, creating a single organisation to replace the numerous smaller organisations.
