Having served in Judicial service since 1937 he became a prisoner of war and worked for the British Army and administration from 1944. Since 1949 he held a high position in the West German Ministry of Interior. In the late 1950s he was appointed to the Foreign office and served as a diplomat in Ghana, Luxemburg and the Soviet Union."@en ;
