Prof. Dr. Adolf Friedrich Leschnitzer (1899-1980) was a Jewish-German scholar of German language and education. On the instigation of Leo Baeck he had worked as educator for Jewish organisations before he finally left Germany for the US in 1939. Since 1952 he was professor of Jewish history and culture at the Freie Universität Berlin. See Röder, W. and H.
