Correspondence with Jewish Chronicle
222 letters

Throwing light on the ties between the two organisations, the correspondence regards the Library’s PR work towards the Jewish Chronicle. This includes the submission of press releases, letters to the editor and drafts for articles, but also the provision of requested information and material, as well as discussion of certain current affairs and publications.

Particular mention deserves a cooperation between The Wiener Library and the Jewish Chronicle on the coverage of the trial of Erich Koch, former Nazi Gauleiter of East Prussia, in Warsaw 1958-59. The correspondence also covers financial, staff and work related issues of The Wiener Library increasingly since David Kessler, managing director of the Chronicle, had become a board member of the Library (1960s).
