Documenting the close association between the Library and the Institute the correspondence deals with a variety of subjects. This includes: the constant exchange of materials; the gathering and dissemination of information regarding former Nazis and certain historical matters; letters of support for The Wiener Library; the mutual introduction of scholars to work at the institutions, including for instance Miriam Novitch; articles for and style of Wiener Library Bulletin, including a review of Gerald Reitlinger’s ‘The Final Solution’ (1953); discussions and support of certain research projects, including the Library’s Nuremberg war crime trials documents project or its eyewitness testimony project; Alfred Wiener’s restitution claim for the expropriation of his assets during the occupation of The Netherlands (1957); the mutual support of getting access to relevant source material or certain archives, including Dutch Refugee Committee files.
