Felix Nasimow was the donor and addressee's best friend in Danzig (Gdansk). Felix remained in Danzig while his friend, Ali (Alex Lawrence), left for Great Britain and went to London University. When the war broke out Felix joined a group of young Jews to go to Palestine. They managed to get as far as Kladovo in former Yugoslavia. It transpires that Felix was on a list of massacred young Jews at Kladovo.
