        rico:history                "<div>This item belonged to Jeanette Herz, Werner Conn’s aunt</div><div><br /></div>"@en , "<div>Jeanette (Nettchen, Nitta) Herz, née Baehr born 3 July 1897, died 28 January 1983 was one of four daughters of banker Carl and Sybilla (Billa) Baehr of Hohenzollernring 92, Cologne, Germany. She separated from her Czech husband in the 1930s, leaving her with three children, Albert Joachim (Fedusch/ Freddie), Rainer and Susi. Before WWII they were sent to Holland for presumed temporary safety, while she was able to emigrate to England. However the children were deported to Auschwitz, which only the oldest, Freddie, survived. He rejoined his mother in England after the war, studied for a degree in physics and worked at CERN, Geneva, retiring with his wife to Australia.</div><div><br /></div><div>During and after the war Jeanette earned her living variously, first in Service, having to learn the English language, customs and cuisine, whence her hand-annotated cookery book surely stems; then as staff warden at Ashford County hospital, Middlesex, University College Hospital, London and a &nbsp;warden of the Girl Guides hostel, London.</div><div><br /></div><div>After retiring to Bournemouth she ended her life at Heinrich Stahl House, Bishops Avenue, London.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div>"@en ;
