Leon Greenman: autobiography drafts

Leon Greenmann, born to Jewish parents in London's East End, spent most of his childhood in Holland from where he was eventually deported with his young family first to Westerbork then Auschwitz- Birkenau. His wife and young child were murdered at Auschwitz, and Leon was the subject of tortuous medical experimentation at the hands of, Horst Schumann. He survived 5 concentration/ death camps. It was after having heard the leader of the English National Front, Colin Jordan, speak at a rally in Trafalgar Square, that Leon first became motivated to recount his experiences lest mankind forgets the atrocities of the Nazis.

This collection contains various drafts of Leon Greenman's autobiography, which was originally entitled 15 Minutes Too Late eventually published as An Englishman in Auschwitz , in 2001. In addition to the various draft versions of his autobiography, this collection contains correspondence and notes relating to them.
