The papers of the General Commander of the uniformed Protectorate Police were probably collected by the post-war National Security Corps after the Second World War, together with the papers of the General Commander of the non-uniformed Protectorate Police and the General Commander of the Gendarmerie, and between 1955 and 1966 they were handed over to the State Central Archive in Prague (now the National Archives).
Písemnosti generálního velitele uniformované protektorátní policie byly po druhé světové válce pravděpodobně spolu s dokumenty generálního velitele neuniformované protektorátní policie a generálního velitele četnictva shromážděny poválečným Sborem národní bezpečnosti a v letech 1955 až 1966 společně předány Státnímu ústředního archivu v Praze (dnes Národnímu archivu).

Nejhodnotnější jsou písemnosti oddělení Ia, kde jsou cenné dokumenty pro studium dějin správy, zvláště pak organizace protektorátní policie a četnictva. Zvláštní pozornost si zaslouží hlášení o použití střelné zbraně či spisy o zabezpečení Panenských Břežan a Dobříše.
Ve fondu se mj. nacházejí písemnosti vztahující se ke zřizování židovských sběrných táborů (inv. č. 167, karton 15) nebo k prohlášení o nežidovském původu (inv. č. 314, karton 50).
The most valuable records are those of Department Ia, which include important documents for the study of administrative history, particularly the organization of the Protectorate police and gendarmerie. Special attention should be given to reports on the use of firearms and to files concerning the security arrangements in Panenské Břežany and Dobříš.
The collection also contains, among other things, documents related to the establishment of Jewish assembly camps (inventory no. 167, box 15) and to declarations of non-Jewish origin (inventory no. 314, box 50).

The papers were sorted into groups by department in 1971. Subject headings were mostly left as they were already identified in the office's registry. Orders and orders of the General Commander of the uniformed Protectorate Police are arranged in a separate group of the fonds as a specific unit.
Písemnosti se v roce 1971 podařilo roztřídit do skupin podle jednotlivých oddělení. Tematická hesla byla většinou ponechána tak, jak byla určena už v registratuře úřadu. Nařízení a rozkazy generálního velitele uniformované protektorátní policie jsou uspořádány ve zvláštní skupině fondu jako specifický celek.

A decree of the Reich Protector ordered the reorganisation of all Protectorate police and gendarmerie units on 1 July 1942. The offices of commanders-general of the uniformed and non-uniformed Protectorate police were established at the Ministry of the Interior. The Office of the General Commander of the Uniformed Protectorate Police (Generalkommandant der uniformierten Protektoratspolizei) was created by merging the V. (Police) Department of the Ministry of the Interior with the General Command of the Gendarmerie. This brought together all the components of the Protectorate uniformed police, i.e. the gendarmerie, the municipal executive police and the government police, under one command, which also included the fire brigade.
In Bohemia and Moravia, offices of inspectors of the uniformed Protectorate police were established as subordinate bodies.
Výnosem říšského protektora byla k 1. 7. 1942 nařízena reorganizace všech složek protektorátní policie a četnictva. Při Ministerstvu vnitra byly zřízeny úřady generálních velitelů uniformované a neuniformované protektorátní policie. Úřad generálního velitele uniformované protektorátní policie (Generalkommandant der uniformierten Protektoratspolizei) vznikl sloučením V. (policejního) oddělení Ministerstva vnitra s Generálním velitelstvím četnictva. Došlo tak ke spojení všech složek protektorátní uniformované policie, tedy četnictva, obecní výkonné policie i vládní policie pod jedno vedení, pod které náležel i hasičský sbor.
V Čechách i na Moravě byly jako podřízené orgány zřízeny úřady inspektorů uniformované protektorátní policie.
