rico:history "Tichý, Jaroslav (1912 Chotěboř - 1996 Chotěboř), educator, Sokol member and cultural activist. During the war, a member of the illegal organization Defense of the Nation. He was arrested and imprisoned by the Nazis in Dresden and in the Pölitz concentration camp. He collaborated with the partisans and took part in the liberation fights in 1945 in the Chotěboř region. After the war he was a teacher again and a researcher in regional history, especially during WW II. He was a volunteer administrator of the Museum of National History in Chotěboř and organized the local town archives. He was a member of the Czech Union of Anti-Fascist Fighters and after 1990 in the Union of Freedom Fighters. He published his literary works in the press. Some of them were published as separate publications - Defense of the Nation in the Chotěboř Region, In Resistance and Suffering, etc. His mother was of Jewish origin."@en , "Officially, this personal estate was transferred to the administration of the State District Archives in Havlíčkův Brod by a donation agreement dated 27 August 1997, i.e. less than a year after the originator's death.
